Things for you to consider to insure a fast and cost effective development process

• Is this an E-Commerce site?  Will you need a shopping cart and a secure server to handle your financial transactions? 
• Do you have a preferred layout for your pages?  There are many, many choices available to you.  Copy the links to some of the sites that you may want to emulate and show them to your designer.
• What color schemes do you prefer?
• What font do you want to use for the graphics and your text?  Keep in mind that almost any font is suitable for graphic designs, but your text font should be a common TTF font.
• Do you have images that you want to use?  Are they already in a digital format or do they need to be scanned from photographs?
• How many pages do you think you will need?  It's a good iddea to have a main menu in mind for your front (index) page.  A person browsing on your site should not be more than 3 mouse clicks away from what he/she is looking for.
• Any special scripts needed for animation or form handling?

• Before you make an appointment with your web designer, gather all the material and make them available to your web guy.  This will save both time and money.
